Description

The Belize Travel Channel presents “Belize’s Landmarks – St. John’s Cathedral in Belize City”. St. John’s Cathedral is the oldest Anglican Church in Centrall America and was built by slave labor in 1812.

Like the Museum of Belize it was built of bricks that were used as ballast aboard British Ships.

The interior features beautiful stained glass windows, an antique pipe organ and furnishings made from local mahogany made from local mahogany and sapodilla logged by the first English Colonists known as Baymen.
